CAWSTON GARRATT is a collaboration between painter, Anthony Garratt and photographer, Barry Cawston.
 
Having met a decade ago, Cawston and Garratt were reunited during an art residency in 2018 at a remote Nature Reserve in the South African wilderness.  During their time there, they decided that it would be exciting to develop a new way of working independently of their individual artistic practices; a way of combining the process of photography and painting to create new, fictional worlds and ideas out of real places and shared experiences. Cawston and Garratt decided that they would call the process of disrupting images to create new artworks, 'DISTURBIA'.
